Phuket is the largest island in Thailand located in the south of the country. It is a hub for many amazing things to do when it comes to vacationing. Phi Phi Islands is one of Phuket’s top things to do.
Phi Phi Islands are actually a part of Hat Nappharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park of the Krabi Province.
It is quite convenient to travel to Phi Phi Islands from Phuket. It takes around 1 hour 30 minutes by speedboat from Rassada Pier and around 2 hours by ferry.
By ferry/boat: the fares to Phi Phi Islands from Phuket cost on average 600 Thai Baht.
By tour: A one-day tour usually costs from 1,200 – 1,700 Thai Baht.
The tour will typically take you to the stunning Maya Bay, Monkey Beach to see monkeys in their natural habitat, and various snorkeling spots throughout the Andaman Sea such as Pileh Lagoon.
The trip takes approximately 6 to 8 hours and the travel agency will pick you up from your hotel or resort in the morning. However, as previously mentioned if you would like to stay on Phi Phi island, many places offer the tour on a half-day or full-day basis.
Before you set off on your adventure, make sure you check the speedboat and ferry timetables that are available at the relevant pier.
The ferry usually leaves from Rassada Pier to Phi Phi Islands.
As Phi Phi Island mostly has walking trails, it is best to explore the island by walking. Renting a motorbike is not an option as the island has limited space.
You can stay on the island, explore the nature trails, wildlife, kayak your way between the idyllic scenery, and surround yourself with the locals.
