Motorcycle Rental

One of the most popular things for tourists to get up to in Thailand is renting a motorcycle/motorbike. It is faster, more convenient, and cheaper to rent.

However, driving a motorcycle can be quite challenging for inexperienced drivers. Unless you are experienced and confident in your driving skills, renting a motorbike will allow you to explore amazing places in the country at your own pace. For those who aren’t confident, we suggest that you stay safe and seek other alternatives such as hiring a private taxi, or tour, or accompanying your friends who can drive.

What You Need

• International Driver’s License

It is required by law that if you wish to drive any vehicle in Thailand, you need to have an international driving permit.

• Valid Passport or ID Card

To identify your identity and status in Thailand, motorcycle rental places require your valid passport with a visa covering your stay in the country.

• Deposit in Cash

Apart from the vehicle rent fees that range from 200 – 500 Baht a day, some shops may need 1,000 – 5,000 Baht cash as a deposit. They will return the deposit back once you return the vehicle in the same condition.

• A helmet

Whether you are driving or sitting in the back of a motorcycle, always, always wear a helmet. Some locals may not do so but for your safety, wearing a helmet is required by law and is extremely important. Motorcycle rental shops usually provide helmets with the vehicle so no need to worry about finding one yourself.
