Bangkok is Thailand’s capital city and is one of the most developed metropolises in Asia. From here, you have three transportation options to get to Koh Phi Phi.

    If you’re on a tight budget, you can take a bus from Bangkok to Krabi and then take a ferry to Phi Phi Island. Some bus companies offer joint tickets. You can also buy tickets separately. From Krabi

When you arrive at Krabi airport, you can hop onto a van, bus, or taxi to go to the pier. Once there, you can hop on a ferry to Koh Phi Phi.

The ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi departs four times a day from the Klong Jilad pier. Ticket prices cost between $13 to $28.

There are also speedboats from Krabi to Phi Phi Island at the pier. While ticket prices are higher, the trip takes less than an hour.

From Phuket

Getting to Phi Phi Island from Phuket is very easy, mostly due to the efficient ferries and speedboats that travel to and from both islands. There are two options you can take to go to Koh Phi Phi.

By Ferry

Ferries from Phuket to Koh Phi Phi come with a top deck that doubles as a sun deck and lower decks with air-conditioned rooms.

Ferries leave Phuket’s pier on a set schedule. Passengers who take afternoon trips will often be treated to free slices of watermelon. Having said that, ferries have drinks and snacks available for visitors on board at all times.

It takes around 2 hours to travel by ferry from Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier. The travel time can go up to 3 hours if you’re going to Koh Phi Phi’s Laem Tong Beach Pier. Ferry tickets start from 500 Thai Baht per person one-way.

By Speedboat

The fastest way to get to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket is by taking a speedboat from Rassada Pier. There are several departures to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket each day, with ticket prices starting at 750 Thai Baht for a one-way trip lasting around an hour.

If you’re coming from northern Phuket, you can also take a speed boat from Bang Rong Pier. A speedboat ticket would cost 1,200 Baht per person, with the trip lasting about 3 hours.

Things To Remember
